YMCA of Silicon Valley is proud to partner with the City of Redwood City in creating a vibrant new inter-generational community hub at Red Morton Park. This dynamic campus, including the new Y and the new Veterans Memorial Building/Senior Center, will offer a comprehensive suite of resources and programs to meet the long-term health, wellness, social and recreational needs of this diverse community. Bringing all these opportunities together in one location will amplify the project’s impact.

For almost a century, the Y has been a trusted and vital part of the Redwood City community, providing high quality, affordable programs for people of all ages. With your support, we can bring an extraordinary new Y to life, featuring modern multi-functional spaces, expanded services, and a focus on equity and accessibility. This facility will serve thousands more each year, ensuring all community members, including the most vulnerable, can participate and thrive.

EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARNING CENTER

A wondrous environment for young children’s learning, enrichment, and discovery.

FLEXIBLE PROGRAM SPACES

Versatile spaces designed for a wide range of activities, such as specialized youth programs, community events, seminars, partner collaborations, and community outreach.

Invest in the Y,
empower our youth

Early learning is vital during a child’s first five years. Redwood City families face a shortage of high quality, affordable childcare and early learning options. As part of a comprehensive family complex, our new Y will feature a best-in-class Early Learning Center offering learning enrichment for young children. These programs are proven to boost educational readiness and long-term academic success.

Youth development is central to the Y’s mission. Through before-and-after-school programs, summer camps, sports, swimming, leadership initiatives, and STEM education, the Y offers comprehensive developmental opportunities to help all children thrive.

In collaboration with local schools and community partners, the Y offers subsidized learning and enrichment programs, including the Y’s highly effective summer learning loss prevention, to bridge the opportunity gap for disadvantaged youth.

Teen emotional well-being is safeguarded and enhanced at the Y by engaging teens in physical, mental, and social activities, with highly trained and supportive staff. Our new Y will supply vital programs, resources, and experiences for the whole family to foster connections, learning, understanding and confidence.

INDOOR WARM-WATER POOL

A pool dedicated to restorative programs and services for individuals with special needs, disabilities, and varying abilities.

Invest in the Y,
save lives

Drowning is a leading cause of death for children and those from low-income families face the highest risk of drowning. As the nation’s leading organization in swimming instruction, water safety is a Y priority.

Our new Y will feature a spacious outdoor pool offering swim lessons, water fitness, recreation, water sports, lap swimming, and more. Our Safety Around Water program, offered free of charge for young children, will expand to accommodate many more in the new facility.

Our indoor warm-water pool will be the only one of its kind on the Peninsula. This is a vitally beneficial resource, particularly for disabled and senior populations. Programs will address needs for physical rehabilitation, chronic pain management, mobility restoration, arthritis management, pre-natal exercise, and aqua fitness.

The Y’s new aquatic center will provide a healthy, fun environment for families to bond, and for community members of all ages to build strength and confidence through a wide array of engaging programs and activities.

Invest in the Y,
elevate quality of life

Many Redwood City residents lack access to essential healthy living programs, social activities, and enrichment due to availability or cost. Also, over half of adults are overweight or obese, and many suffer from chronic diseases. Increased physical activity plays a key role in preventing or delaying many of these health issues.

Our new Redwood City YMCA will provide exceptional facilities and resources to meet these growing needs, expanding its capacity to serve many more people. With an emphasis on personal growth, the Y empowers all people to achieve their own wellness goals in spirit, mind, and body.

To accommodate people of all ages and abilities, the Y offers an unrivaled range of health and wellness programs and services. Specialized initiatives for disease prevention and management will support individuals coping with cancer, Parkinson’s, diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease and obesity.

With a focus on family, the new Y will be a haven for meaningful interaction, relaxation, and strength for parents and children, alleviating stress, fortifying connections, and building resilience in a fun and healthy environment.
