Curriculum Units

Make Connections provides 11 thematic curriculum units in English and Spanish. Chose the units that work best for your programs, and use them in any order. Most units fit several early childhood themes. If you don’t see your themes below, contact doreen.hassan@ymcasv.org to talk through how to adapt the units.

Each unit contains:

activities for ages 2 and Up, each with easy, medium, and hard versions plus take-home variations;
activities for children Under 2, to use in programs and at home;
tips on engaging young children in the math in the unit.

If you use the YMCA ELR model, each unit will cover four weeks. For childcare, PK, and afterschool programs, each unit will cover two to six weeks, depending on frequency and length of your math time.
